Our Kinder Prep Program

The transition to kindergarten is an important milestone in a child’s educational journey. At Martlet Academy, our Kinder Prep Program is designed to build the academic readiness, independence, and confidence children need to succeed in a kindergarten classroom and beyond.

Through a balanced approach that combines structured learning with purposeful play, children develop essential skills while fostering a positive attitude toward learning. A Strong Foundation for Kindergarten Readiness

Our Kinder Prep classrooms focus on preparing children academically, socially, and emotionally for the expectations of kindergarten. Clear routines and consistent expectations help children develop responsibility, self-regulation, and confidence. Educators guide children through more complex tasks while encouraging independence and problem-solving.

Children are supported as they learn to follow multi-step directions, participate in group discussions, and complete age-appropriate academic work.

Academic Learning With Purpose

The Kinder Prep curriculum emphasizes early literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills. Children build phonics awareness, letter recognition, early reading skills, and handwriting readiness through engaging, hands-on activities. Math concepts such as counting, number recognition, patterns, and basic problem-solving are introduced in meaningful ways.
